Join us for a chance to meet, connect and learn from other creatives, whether you're just starting out or have been working in the industry for decades, at our monthly Creative Cuppa.
Creative Cardiff hosts a gathering for artists, businesses and creative freelancers called Creative Cuppa. These informal events will bring the creative community together for the all-important three Cs - connection, creativity and caffeine.
Each Creative Cuppa event starts with a TED-style talk on a theme that is relevant across all creative sectors, followed by an informal hour to build relationships, share knowledge, and uncover new opportunities.
May's theme: Funding and fundraising
This month, we’ll be joined by Dr Jess Hoare and Hilary Farr on the topic 'Access to funding'.
Jess is a researcher and experienced heritage professional with over a decade of experience working at the intersection of creative industries, emerging technologies, and inclusion. Jess has worked with organisations such as Arts Council England, Amgueddfa Cymru, and Nesta, and currently leads research at Media Cymru focused on improving equity and access within the creative sector. She also serves on the Advisory Board for South West Museum Development, where she advises on funding programmes and evaluation. Jess will share practical insights into applying for funding, what funders look for, and how to make your application stand out.
Hilary is the development officer for Arts Council of Wales and will give insight into what funds are currrently available and what funds will be opening soon.
