About
When I was a young closeted child, I loved to make up stories. Heroic words and pictures from a boy who did not feel like a hero in his day-to-day life. They allowed me to escape and imagine a different version of myself. In them I was allowed to be who I wanted to be, not who I thought other people wanted me to be. My writing was long, rambling and often odd. My pictures were colourful and filled with detail and life. I remember the exhilaration when writing and the calm when painting. The sense of excitement, ownership and openness. And that delicious feeling of being seen and the joy when I shared my creativity.
I’m older, I've had the career and now I want to return to my creativity. I have more self-knowledge and I am a great deal achier! In other ways things haven’t changed: my paintings are still colourful and my stories still focus on “better” versions of myself.
I’m open to commissions, collaborations and opportunities to continue to explore stories in all their forms.
