With boundless energy and a visionary spirit, Jimmy Watkins has built a career on blood, (a lot of) sweat, and too many beers (before going tee-total). As a young athlete he ran for team Great Britain at the 800m final at the World Championships in Moscow, but within a year he had quit athletics to join a rock band.
As a member of the Welsh Music Prize winning band Future of the Left and later with the Vega Bodegas and his current musical outlet, Joyce; Jimmy found considerable success and lived the rock star lifestyle to the full. After years of not looking after himself, he decided to start running again in 2019 and founded the phenomenon that is Running Punks, a worldwide and inclusive community of runners who share a love of music.
