The Immersive Arts programme aims to break down the barriers for artists of all backgrounds to create and engage with immersive technologies. Through an inclusive and accessible programme of funding, training, research, and events, we want to create a nurturing space for artists to explore, experiment and expand their creative practice with immersive technologies. And we want to learn more about how to make this sector of work accessible to audiences too - and share all our findings widely.

This informal online session is for anyone who is interested in applying for Immersive Arts funding and wants to know more about how we will support artists with access needs. Whether that’s supporting you in making a great application, creating responsive opportunities for awardees to make the most of the funding and training on offer or pushing the tech to ensure access for all.

This is a drop in session so come for as much or as little as you like - we’ll be in a group to start and allow space later in the session for breakout groups to have 1-1 conversations if they are wanted.

Come along, meet Jo Verrent (Director, Unlimited) and Ruth McCullough (Executive Producer, Immersive Arts) and we’ll answer your burning access related questions.

Available access for the event:

We’ll be reading and describing anything on screen, providing live captions (not AI generated) and ensuring BSL interpretation - just let us know if there is anything else you need via the booking form below. Access requests should be made by 1st October 2024  to give us time to respond.

What is Immersive Arts?

Immersive Arts is a new 3-year UK wide project aimed at breaking down the barriers for artists of all backgrounds to create and engage with immersive technologies, through an inclusive and accessible programme of funding, training, research and events. From October 2024, Immersive Arts will be offering artists in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland opportunities to access a community of peers, training, mentoring and vital funds.
