I am the design engineer behind LLêN studio. The brand takes influences from my family heritage of Welsh and Danish, through the eyes of bespoke tailoring. Llên, in welsh means lore- myth, heritage.
Attention to detail, carefully engineered construction using zero waste or minimal pattern pieces create beautifully tailored garments, which are designed for all to wear, regardless of gender, race, size, age, ethnicity or religion. I want to highlight the conversation of individual identity, pushing the boundaries and being accepted for whomever, whatever, whenever and wherever we decide to be. We get to choose, to be ourselves.
I strive to produce clothes, which are designed to last, so the wearer is able to bond with the garment, watch it evolve and age over time as we do. The wear gets to create their own narrative with the clothes they wear.
Sustainability and technology are at the heart of the brand.
Llen studio provides high quality and bespoke garments for all sizes and shapes and backgrounds. The jacket I chose was even reversible so really I had two jackets for the price of one! Every detail was thought about carefully. Ellen’s dedication to sustainable fashion is extremely commendable and she has certainly changed my views on fast fashion as well as my commitment to buying from small businesses such as llen studio. As well as her successful business, she teaches. She is a wonderful example of what a forward thinking, sustainable small business should be.
