Creative Cardiff hosts a monthly gathering for artists, businesses and creative freelancers called 'Creative Cuppa'. These informal events will bring the creative community together for the all-important three Cs - connection, creativity and caffeine.

Join us for a chance to meet, connect and learn from other creatives, whether you're just starting out or have been working in the industry for decades. Each Creative Cuppa starts with a TED-style talk on a theme that is relevant across all creative sectors, followed by an informal hour to sit down, chat and eat cake! These are relaxed gatherings to meet other creatives and share opportunities.

Creative Cuppa September: Who’s afraid of being a ‘creative’?

For this month’s Creative Cuppa, in partnership with NTW TEAM, journalist, researcher and community organiser, Shirish Kulkarni will be joined by Alun Llwyd from creative platform AM, Carys Bradley-Roberts from Creative Cardiff and poet, writer and activist Amira Hayat explore why so many of us find it difficult to call ourselves a ‘creative’.

If even creatives don’t feel comfortable calling themselves ‘creative’, how can we expect anyone else to do that? And if we can’t think of ourselves as creative, then how does that influence the bigger questions we’re asking, about how we might build the kind of future for society that we might want to be part of?

In this interactive session, we’ll also be introducing a collaboration between Creative Cardiff, NTW TEAM* and AM which we hope will get everyone thinking about their relationship with creativity and maybe even calling themself a ‘creative’!
